Hello fabulous bloggers! Thanks for peeking in for some inspiration today!
The Scrapbooking Studio provided me with some beautiful spring papers from the Sun Kiss line by
Prima. The subtle colors made the outdoor photos pop off the page! These photos are of my adorable grand-nephew, who just could not get happy at Great Grandma's house that day! What a cutie he is!
And some detail shots of the journaling and title...all those cool stickers are part of the Sun Kiss line! The mats behind the kraft cardstock pieces were created from a patterned paper by using the Tim Holtz Sizzix Rays embossing folder. It was opened and inked with vintage photo distress ink on one side of the folder. Then the paper was carefully placed inside and run through the Big Shot. it created a really cool effect on the mats! On page two, a second journaling block was placed underneath. It is opened with a "hinge" made of paper. The Prima flowers with pearl centers added a nice touch, too!
Now, for the tutorial! The following photos demonstrate how I weaved the paper to create the center anchor for the layout. | | | | | | | | | | | |
Start with two 2.5" x 12" strips of striped paper. Turn over and attach them at the center with removable tape. You are seeing the back side of the stripe paper. Make a pencil line 1/2 in from the longest edge. |
|
Using an exact-o knife and metal edge ruler, cut from the pencil line to the opposite edge every 1/2 inch. |
|
The three pieces woven into the striped base are the bottom strips cut from the 12x12's! They are all 1/2 x 12" strips just perfect for this technique! And, you don't have to cut up your 12 x12's to do this! |
|
Once all three strips are woven, make any adjustments to straighten, then glue down the loose ends before attaching to the page. Dry adhesive, ATG was used to glue the loose ends and Beacon's 3 in 1 was used to attach the finished strip to the layout. |

That's all for today...be inspired...Jules!
