Quick Quotes Altered Canvas Mini

Hello out there!  It has been a while since my last post, so it's time to share a project with you.  This one was very special.  My niece lost a very dear friend and had very few photos of him, so I put together this little canvas kit from Quick Quotes for her to look at whenever she was missing her friend.

All the chipboard pieces (in silver) were inked up with Silver Metallic Stazon.  After the ink was dry, Tim Holtz Fabulous Flourishes stamps were used on the page tabs and black metallic paper was placed behind the cut-out letters.  The chipboard photo frames were done in the same technique, using a  stamp from Hot Off The Press, Artful Collection. Quick Quotes Christmas Cards

Hey fabulous bloggers!  Quick Quotes had (past tense, sorry!) this Holiday & Events Card Kit last year and I made all the cards and failed to share!  Some are made per the kit directions, some were my own design, but all were fun!  The beautiful paper line in the kit was Julie je'taime, which apparently is past tense, also, as I could not find a link for it.  Not to worry, though!  They have a NEW Christmas Card kit with some of their beautiful Cracklin' Rose paper!  See it here.

There were acutally about 16 cards in the kit.  These are the ones I haven't used yet!

Crate Paper Acorn Avenue Card

Hi everyone! Welcome to the blog today to see a card made from the Acorn Avenue line for The Scrapbooking Studio.

For the front, a journal card was layered onto card stock, burlap ribbon was inked, a random strip of paper from the line was layered over the burlap and a border sticker was layered over the strip.  Some adhesive backed chipboard from the line was layered over the horizontal strip.







The card was made from a piece of the card stock and folded so that the inside would hold a gift card.

A little inside detail: Burlap ribbon was inked, then stamped with Black Stazon.

Anniversary Card

Hi bloggers!  Just me, sharing a little kit card made for a friend and her hubby who recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.  All the embellishments are Dazzle stickers from Paper Wishes.  They really do dress up a card! The papers are from the Sunshine and Shadows paper kit.  If you click on the link to the papers, there are a number of project ideas  for these beauties.

Paper Wishes Color Me...

Un-colored!  Hey, everyone! Another wedding card up for viewing on the blog today!

The base is purple card stock with a layer of plain vellum,  printed heart vellum and an Ebony Color Me Lace card topper.  You gotta try these card toppers from Paper Wishes!  Click the link to see more. You can use any kind of color you want to achieve your look (as I did a few posts back), although for this, one I decided not to color it at all!

The center of the card topper was cut out with an exacto-knife so there would be a "window."  A Spellbinders Fancy Tags 2, cut with the Big Shot,  and adorned with matching pearl bling, created the focal.

A triple loop purple satin bow, adorned with Jenni Bowlin and Maya Road Pins and a double heart charm, trimmed the right side of the card front.

The card inside was vellum layers and cardstock, cut with Spellbinders Labels Eight and another Fancy Tags 2.  The Congratulations banner was part of the Ebony Color Me set.

A little pocket for some cash...EK Success Edger Scroll & Hearts punch made the pretty trim.

The card was a little thick with the bow on front, so I made an envelo-box with a Martha Stewart Scoreboard, added a belly band using EK Success Rose Bush Large Slim Punch, Anna Griffin flower and punched labels.

The inside of the envelope was lined with lavender glimmer paper and purple card stock.

Quick Quotes Private Reserve

Well, Bloggers, QQ Private Reserve in St. Louis was 4 weeks ago, and I have not shown you a single project!  That is about to change!

This is the only layout I have completed with photos, because...when I saw the preview of the class on Quick Quotes' website, I knew exactly what I wanted on those pages...my SCRAPBOOKING friends!

Baby Boy Card with Quick Quotes and Paper Wishes

Hello to everyone out there on the blog today!  This is a baby card I made a while back, but I guess I neglected to share...so here it is...

The left side with the knotted ribbon is on the envelope.  The card background and the envelope matte were stamped with a patterned stamp, embossed with baby blue embossing powder and then colored in with Quick Quotes Chalk Inks in Green Tea, Amaretto and Mocha Mama.  The patterned paper with stars is from Quick Quotes, heavily inked with Mocha Mama Chalk Ink from Quick Quotes.  The sentiment and baby picture are also from Quick Quotes - It's a Boy vellum strip.  Smooch inks were used on the back of the vellum to color in the picture of the baby in the cradle.  For the main focal, a frame stamp from Paper Wishes Labels & Frames set was stamped onto blue card stock.  The vellum piece was cut to fit the center shape and adhered with vellum Glue Dots.  Corner punches and little blue pearls finished off the focal.

On the inside, corner punches hold the vellum in place and an extra Congrats stamp(from Paper Wishes Labels & Frames stamp set) was added to the bottom of the quote.

Everything was inked with Mocha Mama Chalk Ink from Quick Quotes.  Click on the links to see the products used for this project.

Antique shoe clip tag

Hello there!  Thanks for stopping by for some inspiration today! Up on the blog today is a tag made for a friend.  She wanted an antique shoe clip made into a display piece and this is the result...

There is alot going on here.  First, Tim Holtz Distress Stains (Barn Door, Snow Cap & Tattered Rose were 'scribbled' onto a craft mat.  The tag was dragged through and dried with a heat gun several times until the color was just right.  (Hint:  there is no right!).  Tim Holtz' Urban Tapestry and Artful Flight stamps were used randomly over the tag in Ranger Coffee Archival Ink.  A piece of Prima patterned paper was die-cut with Tim Holtz Plaque & Postage die, then embossed with a Cuttlebug  embossing folder (Birds & Swirls).  One of the birds was colored with Cape Cod Smooch Ink and the vines were tapped with  Green-with-Envy-PowderPuff-Chalking-Inks .  All the edges were then distressed with Tim Holtz' Tonic distress tool and inked with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and attached to the tag top.

Now comes the fun...The shoe clip was attached to a Prima paper flower by cutting a slit into one of the petals.  The flower was attached to the card with foam dots.  Creme small rose ribbon from Paper Wishes was stained with Spun Sugar Distress Stain and placed at the seam of the die-cut piece.  Three single roses were also stained and red pearls attached to centers.

For the bottom of the tag, a vellum quote from Quick Quotes was torn and inked, then wrapped around the bottom.  Vellum glue dots held it to the tag until the large focal and the three little roses were attached.

Two holes were punched at the top of the tag.  Basic Grey fibers and a Tim Holtz bauble were tied on to finish things off.

To make the tag extra sturdy, a piece of patterned Prima paper was added to the back.  Three easels were cut with Tim Holtz' Small Easel die, one out of chipboard and two out of patterned paper.  The patterned paper was glued to each side of the easel and attached to the back of the tag.  

My friend loved the tag and is giving it to her mother for a birthday gift.

Paper Loft Layouts - 4

Hello!  Thanks for stopping in today!  This is layout #4 from The Paper Loft class at Creating Keepsakes Convention.  Wow!  They provided alot of product for all four double-page layouts!!

For my contribution to this design, I had these cute Stickopotamus buttons in my stash.  They were already threaded and had foam tape attached, so all I had to do was decide where they were going!  Some Karen Foster Suede Scrapper's floss bows were added to the tops of the photo mats and call it done!

Quick Quotes Mocha Mama Chalk Ink was used on all the pieces.  I love that stuff!

Don't you love the title - I love this crazy tragic sometimes almost magic awful beautiful perfect life!  I am going to adopt that phrase!

Papaer Loft Layouts - 3

Hello bloggers!  Here is layout #3 from the Paper Loft layout class taken at Creating Keepsakes Convention!

For this one, the title was changed up from the original layout and foam dots were used to pop up all of the words and phrases on the left.  The phrases on the right were attached with brads so that photos could be slipped under them.

And, of course, Quick Quotes Mocha Mama Chalk Ink was used on every single piece!

Paper Loft Layouts - 2

Hello and welcome back to the blog today!  I am sharing another Paper Loft layout class from Creating Keepsakes Conventions.

This was another really cute layout with not enough dimension for me, so I opened up a suede scrapper's spool from Karen Foster and started wrapping things up with it!

All papers were inked with Quick Quotes Mocha Mama Chalk Ink.

The Paper Loft Layouts

Hello Bloggers!  Up today is a layout from a Creating Keepsakes Convention Class.  This is a really basic layout and cute papers, but it just needed something additional, so I dug through my flower stash to make the layered flowers to add to the pages.  All the papers were chalked with Quick Quotes Mocha Mama Chalk Ink.

Prima "Love" Mini Album

Hello!  Up today on the blog is a beautiful little mini book class taken at Creating Keepsakes Convention in St. Louis last month.  It turned out very pretty!  All the layered flowers and bling on the front just make you want to stare at every detail!

The class was taught by Prima.  They have some beautiful paper and embies!  Enjoy!

Retirement Gift Project

Hello awesome bloggers!  Today's post is the gift I made for my 'retiring' friend!  Before you scroll down, guess what is inside!  I you read this blog regularly, you would have seen something similar on a previous post!

 The lid is off...still wondering?

Yes, it is a stationery box, partially made from an SEI template.  A few modifications were made to make this one my own:  Loopy ribbon, scalloped edges everywhere.  I has three pockets, address book, pen holder and pocket for postage stamps!

Pocket in the back will hold A2 cards perfectly or even 5x5's.  The left pocket is the perfect size for a 3x3 pad of sticky notes, or a stack of gift cards.

Six greeting cards were made for use on any occasion and placed into the back pocket.  They are blank inside.

The outside view with layered flowers and bling from Prima.  The box bling is from Hobby Lobby.

If any of you out there are Quick Quotes fans, the papers used for this project are from an old Quick Quotes line called Bandana-Rama.  The colors are just so cheery!

Quick Quotes products are really the main reason I fell in love with scrapbooking!
