Palm Tree Retirement Card

Hello there, fabulous Bloggers!  Thanks for stopping by today!  This is a retirement card made for a dear friend.

The dotted sentiment backgrounds on the front and inside were printed from a Card Greetings and Sentiments DVD from Paper Wishes.  The papers, including the palm leaf die cut are from Quick Quotes Andrew Avenue.  Sorry, I don't think it can be purchased any longer!  The "sand" is textured chip board also from QQ - that stuff is cool!  The raised parts of the chip board were tapped with Mocha Mama from Quick Quotes.

An EK Success edge punch made the "waves." A yellow button layered onto a yellow sheer flower made the "sun."  Brown brads were layered into "coconuts."

The palm tree was quite the challenge:  the paper die cut was fringed, inked and embossed with a stylus to give it dimension.  The silk palm leaves were fussy cut from what began as a maple leaf!  For the trunk, a piece of dark brown card stock made up the base; on top of that, some glossy wood grain paper was layered with the left edges fringed for more dimension.  The focal section was wrapped with Scrapper's Floss tied into a bow.

For the inside, the "beach scene" was layered onto one of the Andrew Avenue papers, which was fussy cut and wrapped with more Scrapper's Floss and layered onto another piece of coordinating paper.  The layers were all heavily inked with Blue Hawaiian QQ ink.

I was really pleased with the final results and my friend just loved it!  Mission Accomplished!

Thanks for stopping by today, and....be Inspired!  Jules
